Legislative Budget and Audit Committee to Meet to Allocate Stimulus Funds
ANCHORAGE – The State’s Legislative Budget and Audit Committee (LB&A) will meet this week to discuss the allocation of millions of dollars of federal funds that are part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). “These funds are coming into our state’s Departments of Health and Social Services, Natural Resources, Transportation and the University,” said Senator Kevin Meyer (R-Anchorage), chairman of the LBA Committee. “As legislators, we need to be sure the Stimulus Funds received by the State are spent wisely.” Also on the agenda is a discussion of the subcommittee review of the LB&A Request for Proposals for Economic Analysis Modeling for Alaska Natural Gas Taxation. The meeting of the LB&A begins at 9:00 am, Friday, November 6th, 2009, in room 220 of the Anchorage Legislative Building, 716 West 4th Avenue, Anchorage.
